Christmas Shopping

Can you believe Christmas is less than two weeks away? If you're anything like me, you've just stated scrambling around to get you gift list finished. Right now I'm at 4 down and 3 to go. There are always those last few that are impossible to find something for. I thought I would share a few gift ideas that might help you complete your Christmas shopping.

1. Jewelry
Every girl likes to get jewelry as a gift. One of my favorite places to shop for jewelry is Stella and Dot. They have a great variety at great prices. Browse the catalog of Stella and Dot here.

2. Games
Everyone loves a great game! You can spice up any game night with Cards Against Humanity.
It's like an inappropriate version of Apples to Apples. Maybe not the best gift for your Grandma, but any friend with a sense of humor will love it. Get yours here.

3. Chocolate
Chocolates make a great gift for just about anyone. It especially makes a great hostess gift for a Christmas party. We've been hoarding boxes from Fannie May in my basement. Get yours before we buy them all here.

4. Books
No matter who you're shopping for, you can always find an appropriate book. Whether it's a best seller, a classic, funny, or a coffee table book, there is something for everyone. I really want Lauren Conrad's book Beauty. It's filled with great hair and makeup tutorials that I can't wait to try. You can find it at Urban Outfitters, or get your copy on Amazon here.

I hope you get your Christmas shopping done on time!

Grumpy Cat

I swear I'm not one of those people that spends all day watching videos of cats. Although, a couple nights ago I did spend two hours watching videos about whale attacks. This was really just a new method of procrastination for me. Really though, whales do scare me and I think we should all be on the lookout whenever in the ocean. Lucky for me this isn't often, because I live in Missouri and there aren't any whales here. I'm safe for now. Back to my original topic (sorry for the rant but beware of whales). Cats, I don't really like them. They aren't very friendly, they don't do tricks, and they are never excited to see you. I came to the conclusion that I will never be a cat person. I just did not like them, until I discovered the Grumpy Cat.
Grumpy Cat
For those of you who haven't heard about Grumpy Cat yet, she is the newest internet sensation and was even featured on the Today Show. Her name is Tardar Sauce and her face ALWAYS looks like that. As a cat hater I appreciate Tardar Sauce's no-nonsense attitude. Her face is just speaking the truth. Most cats try to fool you by looking all cute and nice and then bite you when you try to be friends with them. Not Tardar Sauce. She doesn't play around with silly emotions like happiness. She just tells you how she feels with her face, which is grumpy all the time.

Here are some great memes of Grumpy Cat I just can't help laughing at.

Bad Christmas Music

The Christmas season is upon us! Of course, with the season comes 24 hour a day, 7 days a week Christmas music on the radio. Recently, while rocking out to some Jingle Bells in the car an unexpected discussion came about. The topic: most hated Christmas songs. It's holiday music, but lets be honest, not every song fills you with the joy of the season. Some songs just force you too immediately change the station before you end up wanting to rip your ears off.

My #1 hated Christmas song: The Christmas Shoes
If you haven't had the joy/misery of listening to The Christmas Shoes here you go:

If that video isn't enough for you, there is a whole movie based on this song.
Spoiler Alert: The mom still dies and it's equally as depressing.

My reasons for hating The Christmas Shoes:

1. It's the most depressing song I've ever heard in my life.
I like Holiday music to put a little jingle in my step, not make me want to cry.

2. The countless things that don't make sense in this song.
Why is this boy shopping alone?
How did he get to the store?
Why didn't he ask his Dad for the money?
How does he get home?
Why isn't his mom in the hospital?
Why isn't he worried about stranger danger?

3. The kids singing.
Something about it creeps me out.

4. The mom dies.
Maybe it's just me, but death doesn't give me Christmas cheer.
Her "meeting Jesus tonight" doesn't make it any better.
